Binder Lake Description

Binder Lake is a 650-acre park near Jefferson City, Missouri. It features a picturesque 150-acre lake with excellent fishing for catfish, bass, bluegill, and other species. A boat launching ramp is provided and there is an 18-site campground. There are three ballfields located in the park and there are picnic tables, a picnic shelter, and cookout grills. A large portion of the park remains undeveloped and the inviting trails are an excellent source of exercise and recreation for hikers. Binder Lake is also an excellent place to birdwatch or to take photos. The tranquil lake can be quite beautiful especially in the fall when the autumn colors of the trees reflect on the calm waters of Binder Lake. A relaxing place to fish, walk, birdwatch, or have a picnic. The entrance to Binder Park in Jefferson City, Missouri is off Highway 50 West, approximately 2 miles past Capital Mall. A campground adjacent to the lake has 18 full hook-up sites with shaded level concrete pads and covered picnic tables and grills. Shower and laundry facilities are also available as well as boat and canoe rental. The Binder Lake boat ramp sports a “rougher” texture that eliminates slipping on the moss during the summer. The ramp is at a greater pitch which makes loading and unloading much easier.
